It was 2005 when Dr. Khaliq's research found that the population's incidence of cataracts was considerably higher at 27.5% and most of the patients were unable to afford the prescriptions for treatment & pre & post surgery hence loosing sight.

 

He wanted to start social welfare, where he began helping the poor, concentrating on senior citizens, women, children, and people with eye diseases who couldn't afford it.

 

Like minded began to assist him and, along with him, a group of dedicated social workers registered Fatima Patient Welfare Association at the provincial level in May 2005. But the team has been working in different social sectors in the nation since.
